Campus Tours
The Valdosta State University Office of Undergraduate Admissions staff invites you to visit campus and learn more about what goes on. They offer campus tours Monday through Friday, by appointment only. After an information session with an admissions recruiter, a campus tour guide will introduce you to the history, academic structure, and student life of Valdosta State. With advanced notice, arrangements may also be made to visit a classroom, speak with an athletic coach or meet with a certain department. The tour generally lasts an hour and a half. We encourage you to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring lots of questions that you may have about college life. The Office of Undergraduate Admissions is open Monday through Thursday 8 am to 5:30 pm and on Fridays from 8 am to 3 pm. The office is located directly across from the entrance to main campus on Patterson Street. To make an appointment please call the Admissions Office at 1-800-618-1878 and press 1 or 229-333-5791.
If you just can't make it during the week, we offer three Saturdays throughout the year to visit our campus. This year's campus Visitation Days will be November 14, 2009, February 13, 2010, and March 27, 2010. Visitation day begins at 10 am in the Physical Education Complex. Reservations are not required to attend any one of these sessions. An added perk to taking part of your Saturday to visit us, is that lunch is provided at the end of your walking tour of campus.
Visitation day is open to high school juniors and seniors, junior college students,
parents, teachers, and counselors. The day begins with a warm South Georgia VSU
welcome from administrators and SGA representatives. Afterwards, visitors will go to
the mezzanine level of the complex where and informative academic and activities
carousel will be presented by all departments on campus. Once you are ready campus
tours are provided by representatives from our student body. The tours conclude at the
Palms Dining Center. Visitors are our guests for lunch.
