Requesting a Roommate

 

To ensure you are matched with your preferred roommate, we have developed a invitation code system. In order to submit a Housing Application and, thus, request a roommate, you have to be accepted to VSU.

***Please read ALL of the following information***

Step One: Send the Code

  • Roommate One will fill out their application and request their preferred roommate (Roommate Two) by using the following information about Roommate Two:
    • Legal first, middle, and last name as it appears on their birth certificate
      • Leave blank if no legal middle name
    • Valid e-mail address
    • Spelled everything correctly!

Step Two: Getting the Code

  • Roommate Two will need to check for the e-mail which contains the code

Step Three: Using the Code

  • Roommate Two will need to log into their housing application
     
    • If application has already been submitted
      • Changes to hall preferences and roommate requests are accepted until April 1st
      • Add or change a roommate request by copying and pasting the invitation code and resubmitting application.
    • If application has not been started
      • Complete application
      • Copy and paste the invitation code in the invitation code blank at the top of the Request a Roommate page.
      • DO NOT fill out the name and e-mail option (this was done by Roommate One)
       

Step Four: Finalizing Roommate Request

  • Verify:
    • Both roommates have requested each other
      • Roommate One used the name and e-mail of Roommate Two to request them.
      • Roommate Two used the invitation code automatically sent to them as a result of Roommate One's request
      •  
    • Both roommates have same hall preferences
      • If not, you can change these until April 1st
      • Failure to have the same hall preferences will result in not being placed together
       
    • Submit your application and pay your $325 security deposit and application fee to reserve your space on campus
