Converse Hall

Converse Hall Converse Hall offers a great place for those students who are looking for a convenient and safe environment to complete their time here at VSU. Converse Hall is our oldest apartment style residence hall. It currently houses freshmen as a traditional hall in double and quad units. For 2012-2013, it will be converted back to an upperclassmen hall. It will offer two varieties of apartments - efficiency units, which house one resident and traditional one-bedroom apartments, which house two residents. There are three highly trained Resident Assistants to make your VSU experience one of the best!

Converse Hall is perhaps the most important structure in the History of Valdosta State University since it was the building in which the foundation of this institution was laid. Converse Hall housed everything for the college until West Hall was built in 1918. It was the dormitory, Infirmary, classrooms, administration offices, dining hall, chapel, and social center.

Converse Fire

Historical Converse

This hallmark of VSU was not very fortunate when a fire broke out on April 14, 1978, immeasurably damaging the structure. Its replacement was completed in 1981.
