Fall 2009 Housing Wait List Process for Current VSU Students
Not Including Freshmen
All current VSU students had the option to attend On Campus Room Selection March 2 – 4, 2009 to claim a space or be placed on the waiting list. The Office of Housing and Residence Life reserved approximately 950 spaces for returning VSU students. All those spaces were claimed; therefore we began the wait list process.
Students placed on the wait list will be able to find out their status beginning Monday, March 9 by logging into their Banner Web account. There is no guarantee that being on a wait list will ultimately result in an offer to move; however, Housing will work until opening to fill all students on the wait list who still desire a 2009-2010 placement. Priority for vacant spaces is given to residents remaining from the March 2009 wait list sign-up during room selection before other residents. Wait list room offers will be made via phone call and/or email sent to your valdosta.edu e-mail address. You only have 24 hours to accept an offer from the time it is sent, so please review your messages and/or email frequently.
Wait list students who are offered a space and accept the offer must submit their completed application packet with a signed contract by the stated time in the phone call and/or email. If a deposit is not on file, that must also be paid within the timeframe.
Names of residents who accept a new space are removed from the wait list. Students who refuse an offered space will have their name removed from the wait list. The wait list is for any open space in the system, not a particular residence hall and students may not wait on the list for a particular space, they need to accept any available space or be removed from the wait list. Housing and Residence Life must maintain this strict enforcement to keep the wait list moving as rapidly as possible.
In extreme cases, the Office of Housing and Residence Life reserves the right to make an administrative room change into a vacant space, independent of the wait list, when it deems such a change necessary.
