Georgia Board of Regents Insurance Plan

The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia has contracted with Pearce & Pearce, Inc. to provide student health insurance. All 35 Institutions of the University System of Georgia are required to participate in the USG student health insurance program and use Pearce & Pearce, Inc. as the vendor for student health insurance. Summer 08 Term

Any students who are beginning this summer in nursing, as an international student with an “F” or “J” visa, or as a Grad Assistant must enroll in the Mandatory Health Plan. Open Enrollment ends June 1st and waiver requests must be submitted on-line by May 31st. Students who were enrolled or waived for the Spring/Summer term do not have to enroll The fees for the summer term are:

Mandatory Graduate plan: $219.00

Mandatory Undergraduate: $203.00

Voluntary: $237.00

Any students who want to enroll in the Voluntary Plan for the summer term, must enroll on line at the website listed above. The student must be enrolled for six credit hours in the summer to be eligible. Pearce and Pearce will contact the institution to confirm they meet eligibility requirements and will then send the student the application.

Waivers

Students in the mandatory groups will have the option to waive the student insurance if they have a pre-approved insurance plan. They can apply for a waiver on-line by visiting the Pearce and Pearce website.

Please note that waivers are approved term by term so you must re-apply each term to confirm your information has not changed. If your request for a mandatory plan waiver is denied, you will be given a reason for the denial and you can appeal the decision.

The open enrollment expiration date for the fall term is September 1st. After this date, Pearce and Pearce will close their website for waiver requests and the student will be required to pay the Pearce and Pearce student health insurance fee.
