H1N1 Vaccine Available

The Student Health Center has received the first allotment of the H1N1 vaccine (inactivated). Because we have received a limited supply, starting today, we will vaccinate students, faculty, and staff in the following categories:

  • persons who have medical conditions such as asthma, chronic lung disease, diabetes, heart disease, weakened immunity, and other chronic conditions that put them at higher risk for influenza-related complications. persons who live with or provide care for infants aged <6 months (e.g., parents, siblings, and daycare providers)
  • health-care and emergency medical services personnel who have direct contact with patients or infectious material

Pregnant women are also considered to be in the high-risk category, but since pregnant women are not treated at the Student Health Center, they should speak to their gynecologists to make arrangements for receiving the vaccine.Starting Wednesday, November 11th, we will start vaccinating any other students, faculty, and staff that would like the H1N1 vaccination. The H1N1 vaccination will be free. Please come to the Student Health Center during our regular operating hours. The vaccine will be given upstairs, no appointment is necessary.

Please call 229-333-5886 if you have questions.
