Online Photo Submission

Your photo must meet the criteria listed below to be accepted. All photos are subject to approval by Valdosta State University. All communications from the 1Card Office will be directed to your e-mail address. If a photo submission is declined, an e-mail will be sent stating the reason.

Guidelines for online photo submissions:

Do's...

  • Current color photo

  • Light-colored, solid and smooth background

  • Centered and front view of full face

  • Cropped just above the top of head to the collarbone

  • Proper lighting must be used

  • Eyes open and visible

  • Wear prescription glasses if you normally do so

  • File size no larger than 50KB, photo dimensions of 500 width by 600 height in pixels

Don't...

  • Wear hats, sunglasses or other items that obscure the face

  • Have glare on glasses or shadows on face

  • Other visible people or objects in the photo

  • Inappropriate expressions

If you are having trouble cropping or adjusting the size of your photo we suggest using the following programs to edit your photo before submission.

We recommend using a PC or Mac to edit and upload your picture as using a mobile device may cause problems.
  • www.picresize.com, (Video tutorial)
    1. Browse to the picture and upload it to the editor.
    2. Drag the mouse to crop the picture as necessary and choose "Crop Selection".
    3. Resize your picture to a custom size of 500 x 600 pixels.
    4. Change your picture to save at a maximum size of 50KB.
    5. Save your picture in JPG format and name the file 44715xxxx.jpg where xxxx is your specific ID#.
