FLEX Account Facts
- Valdosta State University offers a campus debit account known as the "FLEX Account".
- The FLEX Account is separate from your Banner Student Account, which is managed by Student Financial Services/Bursary.
- It is also separate from Dining/Meal Plan Accounts. FLEX vs BlazerBucks Comparison Information
- A VSU 1Card is required to access a FLEX Account and transactions must be made in person.
- On-line purchases are not available with the VSU 1Card or any accounts thereon.
- The VSU 1Card and its accounts may only be used by the cardholder whose name, photo, and ID number appear on the card.
- FLEX deposits are not automatic. If you wish to utilize Excess Financial Aid through a FLEX Account, you must do so by logging in to your Banner Student Account.
- ALL credit card deposits are made through our Online Card Office.
- IF you attempt a FLEX deposit and have insufficient funds in your Student Account, have a returned check, or a denied credit card, your FLEX Account will be suspended, rendering it useless. A HOLD may be placed on your Student Account which may result in dropped classes.
Any on-canpus student that plans to use EXCESS Financial Aid for a FLEX Account deposit must follow these steps:
Check for the dates you may deposit excess Financial Aid to FLEX as these dates change each semester.
Login to your Student Account in Banner and subtract matriculation and all other fees from the Financial Aid you have confirmation has been awarded to you. This should determine whether you have any excess funds. Any class or fee changes will affect the results. (Matriculation, Meal Plans, Housing, Parking Decals/Fines, Lab Fees, etc. are automatically deducted first-no exceptions.)
If you DO NOT have EXCESS funds in your Student Account STOP. You will have to deposit funds into FLEX with a credit card, check or cash.
If you do have excess funds in your Student Account, designate the desired available amount and follow the instructions in Banner.
Wait approximately 30 minutes, then your funds should be available for use. Delays are normal during the first week of each semester.
Login to our Online Card Office to confirm your funds are available for use, check your account balance, view transaction history or if you need to suspend your card. These cannot be done via telephone, fax, or email.
VSU 1Card is not responsible for deposits that do not materialize due to insufficient funds including Financial Aid, a denied credit card, returned check, etc. You are responsible for payment of any services or items purchased with a VSU 1Card.
