FLEX Account Facts
Valdosta State University offers a campus-wide declining balance spending program to purchase goods and services from various locations on campus. This account is known as the "FLEX Account". The FLEX Account is a separate account from your Student Account or your Meal Plan Blazer or Bonus Bucks Account.
A VSU 1Card is required to access the FLEX Account. The VSU 1Card and its accounts may only be used by the cardholder whose name, photo, and ID number appear on the card.

ONLINE PURCHASES ARE NOT AVAILABLE WITH FLEX.
IF you attempt a FLEX deposit and have insufficient funds (including Financial Aid) in your Student Account, have a returned check, or a denied credit card, your FLEX Account will be suspended, rendering it useless. A HOLD will be placed on your Student Account and may result in dropped classes. Therefore, we recommend that any student that plans to use Financial Aid for a FLEX Account deposit use the following steps:
- Check our main web page for the dates you may deposit excess Financial Aid to FLEX as these dates change each semester.
- Login to your Student Account in Banner and subtract matriculation and all other fees from the Financial Aid you have confirmation has been awarded to you. This should determine whether you have any excess funds. Any class or fee changes will affect the results. (Matriculation and ALL other fees are automatically deducted first, from your Financial Aid/Student Account.)
- If you DO NOT have excess funds in your Student Account STOP. You will have to deposit funds into FLEX through another source. Example: Check or cash at the 1Card Office OR online with a credit card.
- If you do have excess funds in your Student Account, designate the desired amount you wish to deposit, following the instructions in Banner.
- Wait approximately 30 minutes (sometimes longer during peak registration periods) and your funds will be available for use with your VSU 1Card.
