Where to Use the VSU 1 Card
As always, your VSU 1 Card allows you to access any Dining Services account for which you have contracted, paid, and validated through the Blazer Meal Plan Office. For information regarding these accounts, please drop by the Blazer Meal Plan Office located in Palms Dining Center, or phone (229)333-5988. Your FLEX Account is not considered a meal plan however you may use it at any Dining Service facility.Your FLEX Account may be used to make purchases at the Bookstore located on campus. With an initial deposit and activation of a FLEX Account you can purchase books, supplies, clothing, and any other needs you may have which are available at the Bookstore. Please refer to Financial Aid information regarding early purchase of textbooks and required course materials.
Residence halls are equipped with door card access readers to allow a student's VSU 1 Card to act as a key. The magnetic stripe on the back of your card is set up to allow access to your residence hall upon payment of Housing and Residence Life fees and receipt of your room assignment. This feature is primarily available to residents and cannot be accessed by any persons who do not have a legitimate need to be in the residence hall. If the card is lost or stolen, report it immediately and we will deactivate the card to prevent misuse by someone other than the original cardholder. The VSU 1 Card can be used in the laundry rooms in the halls. It can also be used at various drink and snack vending machines located on campus. If the student has a FLEX account activated, they can use the VSU 1 Card like a debit card.
The VSU 1 Card is required to utilize medical services at the Student Health Center, if you have paid the current semester's health fee through your Student Account.
The VSU 1 Card Services FLEX Account may be used in Parking and Transportation to pay for parking decals, tickets, etc.
The VSU 1 Card is required to access the Student Recreation Center, if you have paid the current semester's activity fee through your Student Account.
Odum Library uses the bar code on the front of your VSU 1 Card to allow you to access library material.
Facilities Use in the University Center uses your VSU 1 Card to allow students, faculty, and staff to check-out rooms.
The VSU 1 Card is required to vote in all SGA elections.
The VSU 1 Card is required to obtain student admission to Athletic events, if you have paid the current semester's athletic fee through your Student Account.
The VSU 1 Card is a requirement for taking the Regents Exam, among others, administered by VSU Testing Office.
Student Account - Account through which all of your student charges for matriculation and various fee must be paid. Managed by Student Financial Services in the Bursary. You may also contact the Bursary at 1-800-618-1878, 229-333-5718 , 229-333-5719, or 333-5725.
FLEX Account - Optional account in which you may deposit funds for use on campus that are automatically debited from your account when your card is swiped. Requires a signed FLEX agreement to open initially, and one yearly thereafter.
Meal Plan Account - Dining accounts contracted and managed through Dining Services
